Tend to Your Inner Fire

As the temperature drops it is important to tend to your inner fire or Agni in Ayurveda.

Agni is essential for proper digestion, it also plays a critical role in the maintenance of overall health, affecting everything from our digestive and excretory functions, to our mental capacity, emotional health + enthusiasm for life.

Follow our simple tips to keep your fire burning bright.

❤️‍🔥 Drink Warm Water

Sipping warm rather than cold water particularly in the cooler months helps stimulate Agni or your digestive fire which helps with processing food + eliminating sluggish feelings in your body.

❤️‍🔥 Use Warming Spices

Introduce more warming spices into your meals will help to balance your body.

Such as cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger + turmeric relieves issues such as joint pain, arthritis, coughs + colds.

❤️‍🔥 Keep Moving

Your Yoga practice is vital to naturally warm your body + help to stay healthy in this season when our immune system is needed most.

Mindful movement even when you don’t feel like it will help keep your energy + emotions feeling in flow rather than stagnant.

❤️‍🔥 Have Quality Rest

As the nights are longer + the days are shorter honour the cycle with longer rest.

Ensuring you get to bed earlier between 9-10pm is ideal then waking with the sun around 6am, brings your mind + body into a restful rhythm.

❤️‍🔥 Self Massage

Taking time upon rising or before rest each day to practice Abhyanga.

Using a warming oil such as sesame oil to mindfully massage your whole body will help ease dryness in the skin, soothe your mind, warm your body, stimulate digestive fire + initiate deep sleep.

We would love to hear how you implement these techniques into your every day.
