Plan Your Day the Ayurvedic Way

What you do matters.
When you do it matters more.
This is your guide to syncing your day with your body’s natural rhythm.

Ayurveda teaches us that nature moves in predictable waves of energy throughout the day each day.
When we schedule our lives to match these waves, we feel in flow.

We can use our energy efficiently to bring a supported sense of ease into our daily tasks.

6am – 10am

Kapha Time

Grounding, heavy, slow energy

This is the best time to wake, move + energise the body.

If we sleep into Kapha time, we feel foggy, heavy + unmotivated.

Rising before 6–6:30am gives you clarity + lightness for the day.

Best Daily Routine:

꩜ Wake, hydrate, scrape tongue, oil pull

꩜ Gentle yoga, walking, swimming

꩜ Dry brushing, shower

꩜ Light breakfast or herbal tea

꩜ Setting intentions

10am – 2pm

Pitta Time

Focus, digestion, intelligence, metabolism

This is when your digestive fire + brain are strongest.

Schedule your biggest meal + most important work or planning here.

Best Daily Routine:

꩜ Main meal between 12–1pm

꩜ Work that needs concentration

꩜ Decision-making

꩜ Meetings

꩜ Creative output

2pm – 6pm

Vata Time

Movement, creativity, communication

This is light, airy energy - perfect for connection and creativity, but not heavy tasks.

Best Daily Routine:

꩜ Writing, emails, teaching

꩜ Creative projects

꩜ Gentle movement

꩜ Socialising

Avoid overstimulation, too much screen time here increases anxiety.

6pm – 10pm

Kapha Time

Wind-down and restoration

This is when the body naturally wants to slow and settle.

Best Daily Routine:

꩜ Light dinner by 6–7pm

꩜ Walking after dinner

꩜ Gentle stretching

꩜ No screens after 8pm

꩜ Read, journal, breath

If you stay awake past 10pm, Pitta turns back on, leading to late-night hunger, overthinking and insomnia.

10pm – 2am

Pitta Time

Deep healing and detox

This is when your liver, gut + cells do their deepest repair only if you are asleep.

Best Daily Routine:

Going to bed before 10:30pm is one of the most powerful Ayurvedic tools for:

꩜ Hormone balance

꩜ Skin health

꩜ Energy

꩜ Weight regulation

꩜ Emotional stability

2am – 6am

Vata Time

Dreaming, intuition, subtle energy

Light sleep, dreams, meditation and spiritual insight live here.

Best Daily Routine:

Waking during this time feels fresh and clear when you are well rested.

Yoga aligns your energy on the mat.
Ayurveda keeps it aligned all day long.
